I know she mentioned at one of the gigs over here in 2002 that she was a sober girl. Uh, when did Prom come out, it was after then right?!

if memory serves, Prom came out in 2005.

I put the fact that I don't drink anymore in a song and no one ever believes me. Why does everyone believe her? What makes her so friggin trustworthy?

Maybe my eyes are too close together.

I seem to recall Amy saying in an interview recently that she sobered up in the mid-90's. Can't find the source, so I could be wrong, but eh.

I remember her saying in an interview..."Ten years ago I smoked and drank too much...I don't do either anymore".

Problem is...I have no idea when the interview took place. So I'm not much help.

I'm sure I have read a few things where Amy says she doesn't drink now, and on the Youtube clip of her band on Obama election night she says something about maybe having a drink/beer "for the first time in 10 years".

back in the early 80's at a club in midtown, the Moon somethiing. It was just a one evening, casual connection after one of her performances. He would like to reintroduce himself, to Emily at one of her shows. How should he remind Emily of who he is?

Well, if Emily did break up with Tristan (like, hello? don't date your staff ... we all know what happened with Brit and K-Fed) or whomever we're referring to here, perhaps we'll get some better songwriting out of the deal.

You're in Austin, right? They have AWESOME museums - you should give them another chance. Heck, the History of Texas Museum is worth going to, just to play with all the cool interactive stuff they have.

I grew up in Texas and right now I wish I lived there instead of in this crazy place where the sun sets at 5pm. Ick.

And I have no idea when Amy became "sober" but that statement sounded chemically enhanced.

LIZ- I taught preK for 12 years before doing the rock star thing and my 10 year old is a budding paleontologist, so I think I've been in every museum in the city. Still don't like dead stuff though.

Amy seemed like she was really trying to find some connection with this animal. Prairie dogs, rabbits, dogs and frozen birds... I think the woman needs some couch time. I mean, I get it, but in a purely cerebral kinda way.

MB -Don't forget the "dead dog on the highway". But yeah, I stay away from the dead stuff - when I was at the Texas Tech Museum they had a huge biological collection (in other words, a bunch of stuffed dead things) and I stayed as far away from that as possible. Bleck.

Sometimes I wonder if Emily has had to restrain herself from rolling her eyes on stage. In fact, they've probably both upset each other in the past, it's so cool how they've never ever spoken an unkind word about each other in over 20 years.

LIZ- Maybe they do it under their breath. Emily wasn't rolling her eyes but her expression did NOT hid her disdain? digust? surprise?

We just went to an Austin Music Foundation seminar hosted by Martin Atkins of PIL, Ministry, Killing Joke, Murder Inc, NIN, Pigface, Suicide Girls fame called "Welcome to the Music Industry... You're fucked." And I had just spent the past couple of days saying just that, "we're fucked." It's a small business now and I know NOTHING about business. So my ex says to just make sure I surround myself with friends, family and people I can trust and KNOW that these are the women I want to spend the rest of my life with. I thought for a split second and said, "I know I complain from time to time, but I complain about them the same way I complain about the kids. And just like with the kids, I would fight, kill or die for them. They're my grrlz, they're my blood and I couldn't live the rest of my life without them." So he says, "you'll be fine then." And later Martin says, "if you know you're fucked, then you're not. If you think you're not fucked.... you so are."

So maybe in some way, that's how the girls feel. I hope so. I wish I could give what I have to the entire world. It would be a better place.
